Happy memories of outdoor Summer fun with family and friends can last a lifetime, sadly so can the harmful rays of the sun.
Brown spots, known as hyper-pigmentation can be caused by UVA & UVB light. After months of unavoidable sun exposure these lesions begin to rear their ugly heads on our beautiful faces, hands and body. Of course brown spots caused by the sun may be prevented with sunscreen but once they appear on our skin they are best resolved with rigorous treatment!
The Institut’ DERMed Clinical Skin Care Intensive Lightening Serum is a serious solution formulated to get out stubborn brown spots. For best results apply three times weekly to individual spots and increase frequency of use as your skin adjusts.
Targeting pigmented lesions that often result from over exposure to sunlight, hormonal imbalance and genetic pre-disposition, are the type of skin conditions the active ingredients contained in the Institut’ DERMed Lightening Product range are designed to correct.
The Intensive Lightening Serum containing a constellation of therapeutic ingredients such as Ascorbic, Kojic and Gallic Acids along with the gold standard in lightening agents Hydroquinone and its herbal alternative Arbuten is the most powerful formulation for correcting brown spots available on the market today without a prescription.
The Lightening Collection works synergistically with the corrective serums providing a total skin lightening solution for a more youthful even skin tone and preventing future discolorations from developing on face, chest, hands and arms.
Brightening Skin Cleanser – An aromatic foaming gel treatment cleanser formulated with Kojic acid designed to initiate the lightening process. Deep cleanses the skin for increased penetration of the corrective products that normalize the production of melanin.
Brightening Skin Toner – A potent anti-oxidant treatment toner formulated with L-ascorbic acid, L-glutathione enzyme and Spin Trap molecules to protect the skin against free radical reactions from intrinsic and extrinsic aging. Vital C Complex – A rich cream formulated with three immune cell boosters: L-ascorbic acid, DHEA-ascorbic and calcium ascorbic designed to prevent immune cell suppression from exposure to sunlight. DHEA-ascorbic stimulates cell memory regenerating youthful cellular activities that increase skin firmness.

Acne knows no age limit and even afflicts infants. Only when Acne occurs in babies' skin it usually ears in a matter of weeks without special medications. Wouldn’t it be great if we could go back the days of flawless baby skin! That’s what I used to wish for when my skin started breaking out at age 11. My Mom told me I would outgrow it and have clear skin when I got older but that was not to be true in my case. While Acne is common during teenage years I was unlucky enough to fall into the 50 percent of women that experience acne flare-ups in their twenties and beyond. Some men and women suffer with problematic breakouts well into their 50’s! I suppose however in another way I am lucky because my acne eventually led me to the field of professional aesthetics. I became a licensed Esthetician when I was 26 and have devoted my career to helping others with their skin health concerns. During my clinical skin care career I have gained an abundance of knowledge about managing skin conditions and am passionate about sharing what I’ve learned with my clients and students of corrective skin care.
A healthy skin is slightly moist, soft and elastic. Its texture is ideally smooth, fine grained and it is free from disease or disorder. The skin under normal conditions is resistant and self renewing. The skin forms the boundary between the external world and the internal organs. Its main function is to provide a protective covering against micro-organisms and other harmful substances/ but it also performs other functions:
Provides heat regulation by controlling sweat evaporation
Provides a system that allows for cell renewal
Provides a waste disposal system, ridding the body of toxins
Provides a sensory perception
Provides a tough outer net giving form to the body
Provides protection from UV radiation
One of the main reasons I wanted to start this Blog is to thank you for your continued belief in the advanced treatments and products I created to bridge the gap between medicine and aesthetics so many years ago. I didn’t have a name for it when I started my clinical skin care practice in 1989 but in 1994 this hybrid category of care became know as cosmeceutical skin care. My dream then is still my vision today. To provide innovation and education on skin medicines which promise skin perfecting results.
The Institut’ DERMed name symbolizes innovation and education on skin medicines which promise skin perfecting results. Established in 1989 by Master Esthetician Lyn Ross, L.M.E. Institut' DERMed, includes a MediClinical Spa based in Atlanta, a cosmeceutical product line and the Institut' DERMed College of Advanced Aesthetics, also headquartered in Atlanta.
